Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, works independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities: • Adheres to the philosophy of the baseball program and the appropriate Division III rules of the NCAA. • Assists head coach to develop practice plans. • Works one-on-one with catchers or infielders during practice for skill development. • Throws on-field batting practice. • Assists head coach to design and facilitate pre- and post-game workouts and conditioning. • Assists head coach with year-round recruiting of prospective high school players within a multi-state geographic territory. • Assists head coach with administrative aspects of the operation of the program. • Performs other duties as requested by head coach. 
Special Requirements: 
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. EXPERIENCE: Collegiate and/or professional playing experience required. Collegiate coaching experience is preferred. An evident understanding of the role of athletics in NCAA Division III college environment is necessary along with demonstrated experience in recruiting student-athletes. LICENSES: A valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the College’s automobile insurance carrier. OTHER: HOURS: The regular hours for this position will vary and may include evenings and weekends based upon the needs of the department as determined and monitored by the Head Coach. CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is a non-exempt position that pays a stipend through an hourly wage. Additional sources of income are available through private instruction, camps, and field maintenance. Five meals per week are provided during the spring semester. Three meals per week are available during the fall semester.

Special Requirements: 
Pitching coach and aid with recruiting. Bachelor’s degree required and a willingness to work towards a Master’s degree. Successful candidate may also have part-time teaching duties based on qualifications. Coaching experience preferably on the college level. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and initiative, as well as the ability to perform within a dynamic team environment. Williston State College is a member of the NJCAA and competes in the very competitive Mon-Dak Athletic Conference. Under the direction of the Director for Residence Life, Staff RAs will be responsible for facilitating a socially, culturally and educationally enriching community where students live and learn together. Staff RAs will serve as a positive role model for students and Student Resident Assistants (RA). Expectations and Responsibilities: • Serve as a visible, positive role model to students, staff and faculty through personal example in the residence hall and while dining in the cafeteria • Make residents aware of and abide by residence hall policies and procedures. • Staff RAs will be on a rotating duty week schedule with the other Staff RAs. On duty times are evenings and weekends, taking lead on write ups, safety, and communication as outlined in training. • Staff RAs are expected to meet weekly with the Director of Residence Life. Administrative Responsibilities: • Complete any tasks assigned by the Head Resident or Director for Residence Life as required. • Document all policy violations through designated process. Eligibility Requirements: • Hired in collaboration with Athletics to serve as an assistant coach. • Willingness and ability to serve and be dedicated to both roles. • Must be available for entire employment period, inclusive of all trainings. Term of Contract: • Contract will be in effect for the 2016-2017 academic year, inclusive of additional training dates Start date will be August 15, 2017, end date will be May 19th, 2017. • Reapplication and Director of Resident Life’s approval are required for subsequent contracts. • Included in this contract are the stipulations of the 2016-2017 hall contract. A copy will be included. Agreeing to this contract is agreeing to those conditions as well. Contract termination/resignation: • Contract may be terminated by the Director for Residence Life for unsatisfactory performance, failure to meet contract expectations, or breach of contract. Termination of Staff RA position also terminates the coaching position.
